HOSPITALITY MINISTRY
Our Ministry of Hospitality at St. Michael Parish has been built since our first permanent church in 1879 with love and smiles by Ushers, Greeters, and Leaders of Ministries and Church Programs.
Hospitality has been present in our Masses, Worship Nights, Christmas Fairs, Youth Programs, Children’s Liturgies, and Summer Religious Programs.
Our Parish is now recovering and returning from a year of Pandemic which inspired solitude and separation, but the St. Michael Parish “light of hope, love, and friendship” has survived.
We welcome back our parishioners and faith family, our visitors and our neighbors, and we would love to have you as a helpful and friendly member of our Hospitality Ministry.
Help us share the light and love of St. Michael Parish and consider prayerfully if:- I am a welcoming presence in my parish.
- I am welcoming in my facial expressions and mannerisms.
- I see Christ in others.
- Do others see Christ in me?
- I greet people as I approach the church.
- I greet people in the gathering space of the church.
- I make a conscious decision to speak positively about the Catholic Church, my parish, my pastor, etc.
- I am inclusive.
- I make a conscious effort to participate in the Mass to give glory to God and give good example to others.
- I extend Christ’s peace to others, looking them in the eye and acknowledging everyone around me.
- I have another strength I might bring to the ministry of hospitality.
We are hopeful that you will join us in this Welcoming Ministry as a Greeter or Usher. We will have training and work together so you may assist in making St. Michael Parish a faith family known for its hospitality and welcoming from the moment someone parks their car, walks up the steps and enters the church or any part of our campus. Your kindness could be the thing that helps someone grow closer to our community, and even better, Christ!
