“Addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord with your hearts.”
Ephesians 5:19
St. Michael Parish enjoys an exceptional music ministry featuring three music ensembles that regularly lead the congregation at our weekend masses. The styles of music chosen range from sacred chants to contemporary praise hymns.
Our Choir has a sizeable repertoire highlighting many classic choral works. In addition, they sing choral pieces created by many contemporary composers and arrangers. They rehearse Thursday evenings two to three times each month and sing twice a month at the 9:00am Mass. They also sing at selected Holy Day Masses and special liturgies and services (such as Confirmation, Tenebrae, and the Novena to the Holy Spirit) throughout the year.
Our 11:00am Mass music is led by our Praise Group. This keyboard- and guitar-led ensemble leads and enhances our liturgies with contemporary selections written in the praise and worship style. The Praise Group rehearses on Tuesday evenings.
The 6:00pm Mass is led by our Teen Contemporary Group and is comprised primarily of young adults from our parish. This group features music written by praise and worship composers. This ensemble usually rehearses at 5pm prior to the 6:00pm Mass.
If you believe that God is calling you to be part of this very active ministry as a vocalist or instrumentalist, please contact our Music Director, John Kelly, at 603.778.0614 or [email protected] for more information.
