The Wrapped in Love Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on Thursdays at 10am in Raphael Room.
Do you know someone who is lonely, grieving or ill?
The Wrapped in Love Prayer Shawl Ministry has a supply of beautifully crafted shawls and lap robes available. The knitter has prayed on each stitch and every item has been blessed by our priests to be given freely to someone in need of comfort and prayer. If you know a person who might benefit from this work of love, please stop by Gabriel House during office hours to pick one up!
Whether isolated, sick, or simply weathering a chilly night, who wouldn’t love being wrapped in a soft, warm hug?
Do you like to knit or crochet? Are you looking for a way to help someone who may be lonely, grieving or ill? Why not consider joining our "Wrapped in Love'' prayer shawl ministry and share your God-given talent!
What is a "prayer shawl"? It's a shawl or lap robe crafted by you, blessed by our priests and given freely to someone in need. We have received many notes of gratitude from recipients-how they felt loved and cared for in their time of need!
We meet in Raphael Room every Thursday morning during the schoolyear, from 10-11:30. We begin and end each meeting with a prayer so as to have our Lord’s blessings on all that we do. The patterns we follow are very simple. The women who gather have varying degrees of skill and we are always ready to help those who require assistance with their project! All are welcome to join this meaningful ministry...
"We welcome new members & are willing to teach or refresh knitting skills to anyone interested!"
For more information or if you know someone in need of a shawl, please contact Bonnie at 603-394-2025.
The Wrapped in Love Prayer Shawl Ministry of St. Michael Parish began in 2007. The purpose of this ministry is to gather women together who wish to prayerfully craft items, which are then blessed by our priest or deacon and then given away to those who are ill, recovering, in a care facility or simply in need of comfort and prayer.
Most of our yarn has been generously donated by our members or friends of the parish.
Using much of the donated yarn, we have also crafted baby blankets, sweaters, hats, scarves, socks and lap robes and distributed these works of love to St. Vincent DePaul, our troops, Neighbors for Newborns, Rockingham VNA and New Generation. Since our inception, we have given away over hundreds of hand-made items!
